It is near the path from Varrock to the Barbarian Village (west of Varrock). Before crossing the river, look a bit south of the path.
The air altar moved from its original location it is now located between the Barbarian Village and Varrock, use "Locate" option on your air talisman to get it's exact spot.

On September 17, 2009, Jagex moved the Air Alter closer to Varrock. It's just west of Gertrude's house and east of the bridge to the Barbarian Village, right off the path to the Barbarian Village. Much easier to find and still close to the west Varrock bank.

If you are looking for the Canifis Slayer Tower, then it is to the north of Canifis. If you follow the paths you will come to a sign post that shows you the way to the tower. If you are having trouble finding the tower using this method, then I can only advise bring the map up.

They are called Gloves (Canifis). The gloves from Canifis are 550 gp currently, and are only that price for members, because they can only obtain it. Free players can buy from Grand Exchange, but are 1k to 3k.
