15th amendment
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 strengthened the 15th Amendment by prohibiting laws that allowed discrimination in voting. Many laws of this sort were being used to discriminate racially at the time.
Amendment 19 -- Gender will not matter on voting
1920 and 19th amendment have them this right.
the 15 amendment
The fifteenth amendment is about voting. It prohibits the federal and state governments from denying a citizen the right to vote.
One provision that was not included in the 14th Amendment is the right to vote. While the amendment addresses citizenship, due process, and equal protection under the law, it does not explicitly grant voting rights to citizens. Voting rights were later addressed by other amendments, such as the 15th Amendment, which prohibits voting discrimination based on race, and the 19th Amendment, which grants women the right to vote.
Expand the right to vote. The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote; the 26th Amendment lowered the voting age to 18.
In the United States, the right to vote was always established. However, the 15th amendment made it so that voting could not be denied to people, based on their race, color, or previous condition of servitude. Also, the 19th amendment granted women the right to vote. In addition, the 26th amendment states that the voting age be changed to 18, instead of 21.
Neither party can really claim it. The 19th Amendment was passed in 1919, with Republicans voting 200 for vs. 19 against, Democrats voting 102 for vs. 69 against.
