The 26th amendment of the United States lowered and established the voting age to eighteen years old.
The 26th Amendment to the US Constitution lowered the voting age to 18 years of age and was adopted on July 1, 1971.
The Twenty-Sixth Amendment lowered the minimum voting age throughout the United States to eighteen years of age. Prior to this amendment, each state determined its own minimum voting age, usually anywhere from the age of 18 to 21.
The voting age should be lowered because people 12 and older are old eneough to understand and what she does to help our country so we should have the right to vote.... NO STEALS OR iWill ARREST YOU
The 26th Amendment establishes legal voting age in the United States. This amendment lowered the legal age to vote from 21 to 18 years old.
It gave the vote to 18- to 20-year-old citizens.
On July 1, 1971, when the 26th Amendment was ratified, it became impermissible for states to deny citizens eighteen years of age or older the right to vote. However, Georgia (in 1943) and Kentucky (in 1955) had previously lowered the minimum voting age to 18. States are not prohibited by the the 26th Amendment from lowering the voting age below 18.
i think the older peoples,becuase the 26th amendment says that citizens eighteen or older can vote, so maybe the citizen had to be like in their thirty 's . I am eleven years old :(

the 14th amendment is voting based on race, the 26th amendment is the voting age is set to 18 years of age and the 19th amendment is women's suffrage. So, there are 3 amendments having to do with voting.

In the US, voters must be at least 18 years of age.You have to be 18 to vote in the general election in the uk.You must be 18 yrs. old to vote BUT thanks to the 26th Amendment it can be lowered to 16.
