Antlion gecko crab spider
They hunt their prey, unlike most other spiders that trap their prey in webs.
They capture their pray by stinging them with their tentacles and then they pull the stunned prey into their mouth, which is in the center of the top of the animal.
The trap is "sprung" when it's been set off by an animal. The animal "springs" the trap. It is the same when you "spring" a different kind of trap on a fellow human being.

How does a sea anemone trap their prey
Bladderworts trap their prey when their trap is triggered by prey brushing up against small trigger hairs attached to the trap door. Once the trap is triggered, it will close sucking the prey and surrounding water into the trap.
I think the easiest wild animal to catch in a box would probably be a snake, bird, frogs, a mouse, or a a small rabbit.
set a mouse trap
When prey comes in contact with the trigger of a predatory trap, such as a carnivorous plant or a specialized animal trap, it typically activates a mechanism that leads to the capture of the prey. This trigger may cause rapid movement of the trap's parts, such as snapping shut or closing around the prey. Once captured, the predator can then immobilize or consume the prey for nutrition. This mechanism enhances the predator's ability to secure food in environments where it may be scarce.
A Trap to Catch a Cracksman was created in 1905.
Spiders usually catch moths and small flies in their webs. But there are Jumping Spiders (in my house) and these guys catch and eat other spiders. So we don't have many spiders. There are also trap door spiders who live in the ground and have their tunnel concealed by a trap door, from which they leap out to catch prey.
