Compared to dogs and cats, there are other domesticated animals who win the prize for the fastest bowels. Ferrets, for instance, can process a meal in under a half hour.
They can't hold a candle, though, to humming birds. Since they feed mainly on sugar water (nectar) they don't need a long digestive tract and the food doesn't need a long time to be absorbed. Shrews, I suspect would run a close second to them.
