Till yester years good number of hangul (Cervus elaphus hanglu), a representative of European Red Deer in Indian Sub-continent, used to be found in Dachigam National Park. But, as of now, the number of animals has drastically come down to a mere few (most probably the number lies just in two figures) due to uncontrolled grazing and other biotic interferences.
