Deuterium (D) is a hydrogen isotope with one proton and one neutron. Tritium (T) is another hydrogen isotope with one proton and two neutrons. So when they combine, the result is D + T = He (Helium), which has two protons and two neutrons, + a free neutron.

I can write this as D + T = He + n . Unfortunately WA does not have the tools to be able to write this in the usual physicists notation.

Nuclear fusion can occur in several ways, but the form which is most likely to become useful on earth in fusion reactors is between deuterium (D) and tritium (T). These are both isotopes of hydrogen. D has a nucleus with one proton and one neutron, T has one proton and two neutrons.

The reaction then is simply D + T = He + n where He =helium and n = neutron.

What is the easiest fusion reaction to make?

The easiest fusion reaction to make is between deuterium and tritium, two isotopes of hydrogen. This reaction requires the least amount of energy to initiate and is being pursued for fusion energy research.

What type of nuclear reaction takes place in stars?

Nuclear fusion is the type of nuclear reaction that takes place in stars. This reaction involves the fusion of hydrogen atoms to form helium, releasing a large amount of energy in the process.

How is fusion used in a hydrogen bomb?

In a hydrogen bomb, fusion is used to release a large amount of energy through the fusion of hydrogen isotopes to create helium. This process, known as thermonuclear fusion, generates a massive explosion by harnessing the immense energy released during the fusion reaction. The process is initiated by a fission reaction that creates the high temperatures and pressures needed for fusion to occur.

Which pair of nuclei can undergo a fusion reaction?

Hydrogen-2 (deuterium) and hydrogen-3 (tritium) nuclei can undergo fusion to form helium-4, releasing a neutron in the process. This fusion reaction is the basis for fusion energy production in potential future reactor designs.

What is the principle of nuclear reaction?

A nuclear reaction involves the changing of atomic nuclei through processes such as fusion or fission. These reactions release or absorb large amounts of energy. The principle behind nuclear reactions is based on the conversion of mass into energy, as described by Einstein's famous equation E=mc^2.

In a nuclear fusion reaction mass is transformed into?

In a nuclear fusion reaction, mass is transformed into energy according to Einstein's famous equation E=mc^2, where E represents energy, m represents mass, and c represents the speed of light. This process releases a large amount of energy due to the conversion of small amounts of mass into a large amount of energy.

What is a nuclear equation that shows the overall fusion cycle of the sun?

Nuclear fusion in sun is followed by proton proton chain reaction during this reaction hydrogen fused to form helium the main products of this reaction according to nuclear equation is - positron, neutrino, gamma ray photons, isotopes of hydrogen and helium

What law of chemical change is obeyed when a chemical equation is balanced and explain?

conservation of mass law, no matter is ever created or destroyed (except for nuclear fusion)

How does nuclear reaction occur in the sun explain with a chemical equation?

What chemical reaction fuels the sun?

The main chemical reaction that fuels the sun is nuclear fusion. In the sun's core, hydrogen nuclei combine to form helium nuclei, releasing a large amount of energy in the process. This fusion process powers the sun and produces sunlight.
