Technically, the first balloon may have been a 21-foot tall caricature of singer/actor Eddie Cantor at the beginning of the lineup. The most popular balloon was a 60-foot inflated dinosaur. Others included a group of cavemen and assorted turkeys, chickens and ducks, all designed by Tony Sarg and manufactured by Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Akron, OH.
