Hebrews 12:2 (King James Version)2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Philippians 2:8-9 (King James Version)8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: John 17:5 (King James Version)5And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. John 1:1-3 (King James Version)1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Ephesians 3:9 (King James Version)9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Hebrews 1:1-3 (King James Version)1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

These verses indicate clearly who Jesus is and that when He sat down at the right hand of the Father in heaven He was merely returning to His rightful place which He had from all eternity before the incarnation. Though human terminology is used, the central meaning is clear. Jesus came to earth, was incarnated as a man for a specific purpose at a particular time in history. When that purpose was complete He went back to His rightful place of authority with the Father.

Also, In Acts 7:55-56 (KJV):

"But he [Stephen], being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God."

(Acts 7:54-55) 54 Well, at hearing these things they felt cut to their hearts and began to gnash their teeth at him. 55 But he, being full of holy spirit, gazed into heaven and caught sight of God's glory and of Jesus standing at God's right hand,(Romans 8:34) 34 Who is he that will condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died, yes, rather the one who was raised up from the dead, who is on the right hand of God, who also pleads for us. (Hebrews 12:2) 2 as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus. For the joy that was set before him he endured a torture stake, despising shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(Mark 16:19) 19 So, then, the Lord Jesus, after having spoken to them, was taken up to heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

(Acts 2:32, 33) 32 This Jesus God resurrected, of which fact we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore because he was exalted to the right hand of God and received the promised holy spirit from the Father, he has poured out this which YOU see and hear.

(Romans 8:34) 34 Who is he that will condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died, yes, rather the one who was raised up from the dead, who is on the right hand of God, who also pleads for us.

(Acts 2: 32,33)

32 This Jesus God resurrected, of which fact we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore because he was exalted to the right hand of God and received the promised holy spirit from the Father, he has poured out this which YOU see and hear.

(Colossians 3:1, 2) If, however, YOU were raised up with the Christ, go on seeking the things above, where the Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Keep YOUR minds fixed on the things above, not on the things upon the earth.

(Hebrews 10:11, 12) Also, every priest takes his station from day to day to render public service and to offer the same sacrifices often, as these are at no time able to take sins away completely. 12 But this [man] offered one sacrifice for sins perpetually and sat down at the right hand of God,

Answer:

Besides the request of two of Jesus' disciples to sit to the right and left of Jesus when He would sit upon HIS OWN throne [Mark 10:35-37]... Mark mentions three prophetic allusionsregarding Jesus' ascension to the Right Hand of the Father.

"...God said to My Lord, sit at My Right Hand until I make your enemies your footstool." (Mark 12:36 LVB Living Bible)

"...I AM, and you will see Me sitting at the Right Hand of God, and returning to earth in the clouds of heaven." (Mark 14:62 LVB)

"When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at God's Right Hand." (Mark 16:19 LVB)

Yes, Jesus is seated at the right-hand-side of the Father, as the bible states. The Holy Spirit is on the earth as stated in the Holy Bible also. Jesus said, just before he went up into heaven that He would send the Comforter to us (the Holy Spirit), and He did.

The Bible verse you are referring to is Isaiah 41:10 which says "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This verse reminds believers that God is always with them, providing strength and comfort in times of fear or distress.

Was Jesus a metaphor?

No, Jesus was not a metaphor! He was (and is, and will always continue to be) a real, living Person who not only inhabited history as reported so thoroughly in history's most influential and significant collection of books -- the Holy Scriptures, or Bible -- but pre-existed human history (as a member of the Triune Godhead, which the Bible teaches exists without beginning and without end, without being constrained by time and space). The Bible teaches that Jesus created all that is; that He was born of a virgin, lived and died in first century Palestine; was resurrected by His Father from the dead; and lives now to intercede for us at the right hand of the Father. Metaphors in Scripture are mostly obvious. For instance, "at the right hand of the Father" is probably metaphorical, since we know that God is spirit (and spirit does not, literally, have a right hand). Right hand is therefore metaphorical. But the Person, Jesus Christ, just as clearly is not.
