There is no mentioning of the concept of race in The Bible.

According to the Bible all man have the same origin (Adam and Eve). Genesis 5

The bible does refer to different nations and their chronicles however in the book of...1 Chronicles chapter 1. also in Genesis 10.

again God didn't make different races in the bible.

Is it improper to list different books of the bible as their own independent sources for a research paper?

I think it depends on how the source you use was published. If you used a book called The Bible, you should reference it as such. If you used a book called Joshua, you should reference it as such. If it was published as a collected set of separate volumes, you could list the volumes separately. If you are using the Bible in (presumably English) translation, make sure you indicate the edition and the editors.
