The main part of the brain responsible for speech is called Broca's Area. It is named for the scientist who discovered it. This part of the brain is found in the temporal area of the cerebral cortex. Damage to Broca's Area can cause such odd symptoms as not being able to name common objects, not remembering people's names, or not being able to speak at all.

What lobes are important for speech and language?

Temporal lobes

What kind of lobe is it when a person can understand words but have problems with the expression of meaning of speech?

This could be indicative of damage to the frontal lobe of the brain. The frontal lobe is responsible for language production and planning, so damage here can result in difficulty expressing the meaning of speech even though comprehension is intact.

Which lobe of brain involves language?

Broca's area, which is at the pars opercularis and pars triangularis of the inferior frontal gyrus of the left cerebral hemisphere, is responsible for speech production.

What does the association area do in the temporal lobe?

The temporal lobe is mostly responsible for auditory processing, language processing, and the sense of smell. called olfaction.

What part of the lobe is the executive speech found in?

Speech production is dependent on a region called Broca's area, which is found in the frontal lobe, typically in the left hemisphere. In contrast, an area responsible for speech comprehension is Wernicke's area, which lies at the tempoparietal junction.

Which lobe seems to be especially involved in the comprehension of spoken language in humans?

The temporal lobe is especially involved in the comprehension of spoken language in humans. It plays a key role in processing auditory information and language comprehension, making it essential for understanding and interpreting speech.

Speech and recognition is located in which hemisphere of which lobe of brain?

Language is predominantly housed in the left hemisphere, but some aspects are controlled in the right hemisphere.

What part of the brain is responsible for thinking and language?

Conscious thought is a function of the cerebral cortex of the brain. The more specific task of language is shared with all of the lobes of the cortex, but mainly the left frontal lobe is responsible for language production in an area called the Broca's area. ANd, language interpretion occurs in the Wernicke's area in the left temporal lobe.

The lobe which enables you to understand language?

The temporal lobe is primarily responsible for processing language comprehension. This lobe is located on the sides of the brain, near the ears, and plays a crucial role in understanding spoken and written language. It also helps with memory and processing auditory information.

What lobe processes auditory information?

The temporal lobe processes auditory information in the brain. It is located on the sides of the brain, just above the ears, and is responsible for interpreting sounds and language.

The occipital lobe is responsible for what sensation?

The occipital lobe is responsible for vision.

What physiologist first studied the area of the left temporal lobe responsible for speech comprehension was?

Pierre Paul Broca
