Is canon or Sony a better buy for a digital camera?

For me canon is always a better buy. On Feb 2008 I had a tour in the Himalayas (Shikim) with my Powershot A530 along with a friend with his Sony Cybershot.

Both of us tried each other's camera. And what I found the CANON allows much more controls on the shots than SONY offers.

You're going to get a lot of different opinions on this matter, but here is my recommendation. If you are going with an inexpensive camera (a point and shoot). I would definitely go with a canon. I've seen comparisons, and they overall tend to do better; however that might not be true in a year or two, they're always trying to out do each other. But in general I think the point and shoot canons out perform the Nikon's. When it comes to the Digital SLR cameras though, it's an entirely different matter. For that information I would go here:

I had the same question on my mind. I am confused between Canon and Sony.

Can anyone guide.. I am in two minds.. also anyone knows a good site to buy ??

Both of them produce great cameras, but Nikon and Canon have a better accessory and lens product line, and they are more famous.

It's all a matter of opinion but Canon is generally known as better....

Canon. Canon is a company focused on making great analog or digital cameras while SONY is more broad in focus.
