Ferrari and Aston Martin have historically focused on their respective V8 and V12 engine architectures, which align with their performance philosophies and brand identities. Ferrari opted for V8s and V12s to emphasize high revving and power delivery characteristics, while Aston Martin leveraged its V8 and V12 engines for a blend of performance and luxury. Additionally, the V10 configuration was less popular in road cars, with manufacturers like Lamborghini and Audi exploring it primarily for specific models, leaving Ferrari and Aston Martin to prioritize their established engine designs.

Well that obviously depends on which model of Aston Martin. Which one are you talking about, it's a very, vague question. Though that said the California has 460bhp so the nearest comparable Aston Martin currently available would be the DB9 which has 470BHP. Bear in mind though that the DB9 has Aston's 6.0l V12 while the Ferrari has a 4.3l V8. Both cars also happen to be Grand Tourers, so not purpose built race cars.
