I have just test drove Everest, fortuner, and montero today! Fortuner 2.5 4x2 a/t is puffy,and hulky but has the least power and torque among the three. Not to mention the bumpy ride. The mont is overrated and exagerated. If you're in for the looks, it fits nicely in your pocket. The car-like ride they claim is good for the sand. It's too mushy and yet bumpy at the same time. Not to mention the audible sounds of the tires hitting the potholes. Unexpectedly, the Everest treated me with alot of space, sedan-like comfort, awesome power, and monstrous torque! TDCI engines are superb! Gear shifting is seamless and quick! Floor the pedals and you'll instantaneously feel like in a plane taking off! The mont and fort have a lag before it speeds up. For me, getting an SUV needs to be based primarily in effortless driving...The eve leads the pack!
