That depends on which PCI slot
Standard PCI slots are used by sound cards, network adapters, USB expansion cards and some video cards
Some sound cards, network adapters and Wi-Fi cards use PCI Express x1
PCI Express x16 is strictly for video
no. only on a pcie slot. buy a mainboard with such
The bus, for example: PCI-Express (x1, x4, x16) or PCI, or AGP. To imagine this for yourself, it's the slot in your pc, on your motherboard, with that slot, your video card will have to be compatible with. this means, you can't insert a PCI-Express Video Card into an AGP slot. :)
You may manage to insert it into the slot, but the card will not work, and both the card and the motherboard may suffer damage.
A PCI card is supplied with an edge connector which fits snugly into a PCI slot on the motherboard. Firm pressure is needed to ensure the card makes a good connection with the slot. There is also a metal plate along another edge of the card which allows the user to fix the card to the computer case with a screw. Before the card is inserted into the PCI slot the blank plate in the back of the case next to the slot must be removed. Most PCI cards provide connectors on the metal plate to allow external devices to be linked up to the computer; these might be display monitors, joysticks, audio connections etc.
PCI-e card cannot be used on the 4600 motherboard.
like pci slot dimms slot..
yes ati radeon pci express' can go into Intel motherboards
Are you sure the slot is a PCI Express slot? Check your motherboard documentation and make sure that it's a PCI Express slot. You shouldn't have to try that hard to get the card in.
The slot which the video card needs to work. The slot is usually either an AGP slot (which is currently outdated), or the more recent PCI-E slot, which all new graphics cards nowadays use.
No It wont even fit in the pci-e slot, but it is more than likely there will be regular PCI slots on the motherboard as well, use one of them then.
No. They are totally different on an electrical, physical, and protocol level. Attempting to insert a PCI-E card into an AGP slot, or vice versa, will likely damage both the motherboard and the card.
There are video cards for each type of expansion slot (PCI, AGP, PCI-E, PCI-E 2.1 and even USB). It is normal to use the slot with the latest technology that your motherboard is equipped with for the video card.
