Yes they do, they believe in Kachinas. Kachinas are gods they believe to help them grow crops, get rain, and sun and many other things. Kachinas are believed to teach you to behave. On certain days (starting on the Kachina Ceremony) Kachinas are believed to come to the pueblo.
kachinas were dolls that the Hopi Indians believed had spirits and the Hopis would ask them for help
their hopi dance
The Pueblo thought Kachinas were ancestral spirits who returned with the clouds and rain to help their people. Over 300 different Kachinas were believed to survive. Pueblo Indians believed that these spirits once lived among the people, but they became disappointed when not enough attention was paid to them. Before leaving the Kachinas taught their people to dance. Pueblo held religious festivals and ceremonies in which they asked the Kachinas to bring rain and make their crops grow. They used drums and rattles in the dances during the ceremonies. They often danced in masks and chanted. When a boy turned 13, he was invited to the kiva where the identity of the Kachinas was revealed to him. Girls were not brought to the kiva, but they were also told the secret of the Kachina.
The new ancient mariner traditionally wears a black cloak or robe and a symbolic necklace during the ceremony of the ancient mariner. These items help to distinguish them as the honored individual taking on the responsibilities of the role.
The Pueblos didn't have a specific religion, but they had prayer dances for rain, a sucessful crop, harvest, etc. They had a room called a kiva under their pueblo, usually one-two kivas per pueblo. They weaved and prayer danced in it. It was a round room that was entered through a trapdoor in the ceiling. They had kachinas, which were little dolls that represented the gods-there were rain kachinas, sun kachinas, etc. When the Europeans came to America in about the 1400s, they had a huge war with the Pueblo, capturing them , working them like slaves, and converting them to Christianity. Hope this helps! P.S. You might want to look for some books that are about the Pueblo-they probably will have a lot more information than I do!
