I'm sure you really don't care if the movie is spoiled since you are asking a question that pertains to the ending of this film but just in case...SPOILER ALERT: Police Chief Martin Brody played by Roy Scheider and Oceanographer Matt Hooper played by Richard Dreyfuss are the two main characters that survive. The conflict is at sea in the Shark Hunter's boat. After the giant Great White eats the Shark Hunter that was simply named "Quint" played by Robert Shaw...Chief Brody and Oceanographer Hooper some how manage to get an oxygen tank crammed into the mouth of the shark as he surfaces. Brody then aims his pistol at the tank, says something that Swarznegger would say and then fires causing an epic explosion of shark nuggets that can been seen flying every where. Brody and Hooper paddle back to shore using their legs while holding onto some piece of debris. Great movie, so good, you can watch it knowing what is going to happen and it's still suspenseful every time.
