Kanpur ...It was formerly known as the Manchester of the East, and the economic capital of Uttar Pradesh. Kanpur is located on the banks of the river Ganga and is an important industrial centre. Owing to the city's industrial importance, one of few branches of the Reserve Banks of India and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India were established in the city. It is also home to several globally recognized institutions such as IIT Kanpur, HBTI and many more.
