To get an engineering job, a person should have a four year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university that has an engineering school.

If you have a high school diploma or equivalent then you can apply to attend a local college or 4 year university. Some local colleges have a course outline to prepare you for an engineering career. A 4 year college will for sure have an outline of where you should start.
It all depends on what B grade college you are talking about, but keep in mind that Biotechnology Engineering is one of the most important careers of the 21st century. Saying that, any school that offers that type of degree should be a high-tech school and must be accredited.

To become a college professor you have to be a master in whatever you will teach. You should have a Ph.D or Doctorate in the subject you are teaching. So if you are teaching Civil Engineering you should have a Ph.D and extensive experience to make yourself marketable to whatever school you want to teach for.
Business and Engineering.
A mechanical engineer should go to college for at least four years. They should focus on math and science course in accredited engineering programs.

After you have graduated from college.
You should get a degree in sound engineering if you want to pursue sound engineering. This way you will gain experience in the field and with the equipment. You should also get an internship.
