Of the colors in the visible spectrum, red has the lowest frequency and the longest wavelength. As you move on "up" the spectrum, wavelengths get shorter.Red has the longest spectrum of all visible light. But infrared is even longer and there are many more "colors" but you can't see them.

Violet is actually the shortest wavelength, as you consider the color spectrum. After blue comes indigo, then violet. So blue is the third shortest. The color spectrum ranges from red to violet, with red being the longest. Naturally, violet would then be the shortest. Of course this goes for human visible wavelengths. Ultraviolet light is shorter in wavelength, but not human visible. Xrays have even shorter wavelengths, but they also are not human visible. Gamma rays are the shortest of all, but again not human visible.

Orange has a longer wavelength than yellow. On the spectrum of visible light red is longest and violet is shortest.
In order from Longest Wavelength to shortest: Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet
The visible color violet has the shortest wavelength. Just remember Roy G. Biv where the "R" means red, "o" means orange, "y" means yellow, "G" means green, "B" means blue, "i" means indigo, and "v" means violet. :)

Any light that is visible (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) will have a different wave length. Red being the longest and violet being the shortest. Light is on a thing called the electro-magnetic spectrum, which also includes X-rays, radio waves, micro waves and gamma rays. Visible light is in the middle of this spectrum.
Green has the shortest wavelength of those.
