Linux is not very popular on personal computers, but it is on servers because it is free.
Personal computers became popular to ordinary people because of the wide range of software programs.
DOS {disk operating system }
International Business Machines introduced the IBM PC in 1982, however there were home type minicomputers that proceeded it. The Apple II was introduced in 1978. The Radio Shack (Tandy) TRS-80 also in 1978-79. The self contained Osborne was also introduced in 1979. At the same time as the IBM PC XT was introduced so was the Amiga and the Commodore 64 which was popular in Europe. These are but a few of the examples of home computers available in the early 1980's.
MS-DOS
Microsoft makes the most popular operating systems, eg:Windows XPWindows VistaWindows 7They are propriety operating systems (made by a company and sold). You can also get open source operating systems which are free, eg:Linux Ubuntu
They are a company that provides tests for computer professionals so that they can get certification in some aspect of computing. Their most popular test is A+.
The Amiga is a family of personal computers. The first model was launched in 1985 as a high-end home computer. It became popular for its graphical, audio, and mulch-tasking abilities.
The popular citrus soda brand called Fresca was introduced in the United States by Coca-Cola Company in 1966. Since it's release, more flavors and varieties have become available.
The Valiant Charger was introduced by Chrysler in 1971. It was released in Australia and is a two door coupe car. It won the Australian Wheels Car of the Year and was also popular in New Zealand.
