PS/2 connector...........
Usually a Centronics connector is used.
Usually used as a floppy drive interface. Also the TRS-80 Model 3 used this connector for its printer connector.
USB cable type is common printer connector
The DB25 connector on the rear of a PC is used (if it has pins) to connect a printer or (if it has sockets) to connect a modem.
The port used to connect a printer on a handheld data connector is typically the USB port, as it allows for direct communication and power transfer between the device and the printer. Some handheld devices may also support Bluetooth for wireless printing or a serial port for older printers. Always check the device specifications for compatibility with the printer type.

An mpp-1150 interface is used with the Atari computer serial interface that connects to a printer 36-pin Centronics connector.
A printer cable can connect to a serial printer using a 25-pin "RS-232", DB-25 connector, among other things. In many cases, only a few pins of the defined 25 pins are used (e.g., send, receive, common). There are also adapters that convert between the 25-pin connector and, say, RJ-11 phone cord, RJ-45 Cat 5, or even screw terminals for 3-conductor cable, or what-have-you, for connection to the computer (e.g., a DIN-8 in a Mac), or a converter for USB to RS-232. If it is a Male connector on PC it will be 25-pin Serial Port, If it is a female connector (purple colored if latest) it is parallel port, sometimes called Printer Port(LPT) - Naresh , InfoMax
It varies by printer, but a usb printer will usually have a squarish connector with two of the corners angled with the other end being normal usb plugging into the laptop
The USB connector is typically located on the back of your printer. If you can not locate it there, you should refer to your printer documentation. If you cannot find the documentation for it, you can usually find it by searching the printer manufacturer's web site.
I tried to use the cable with an HP 2100 printer with parallel connector. It woulld not work with either Window XP or Windows 7.
The printer always works on a new Mac.
