Most PC versions of Sims, Sims 2, and Sims 3 are like the base of the video games and everything else is most likely an app. Be patient, because my best friend's Sims 2:Pets app took forever to load! If it is a PlayStation version, then no. I would think most console versions would be a whole different story than the PC versions. You just need to buy that video game for game console, put it in your game console, and there! I recommend that you do the tutorial first if you haven't played any base games, like just Sims 3.
