Communism and Democracies are not exclusionary in theory (although have been in practice, I agree). As well Castro did much for the country that the former dictators did not. The same question could be asked about the United States. If the United States is democratic and believes in freedom of choice, why was there such prosecution of communists in the "free" United States, and why is it illegial to go to a country from the United States. Cuba is not a threat to either country.
