Livingstone, Zambia is an historic colonial city that provides a base to explore the Victoria Falls area. Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and is located 10 kilometers from the Livingstone city center. Victoria Falls rises to a height of 360 feet, and has been named a World Heritage Site because of its awesome natural beauty. Adjacent to Victoria Falls are the Victoria Gorges, a set of 7 gorges that the Zambezi River enters into after flowing down Victoria Falls. There are a variety of different animal species found in the Zambezi River, including both the hippo and the crocodile. Another interesting tourist site in Livingstone is the Livingstone Museum. The museum chronicles the life of David Livingstone, the Scottish explorer who discovered Victoria Falls and the city of Livingstone. In addition to memorbilia from Livingstone’s life, the museum also contains a variety of exhibits that spotlight the flora, flauna, and human ethnic groups that inhabit the area around Livingstone.

Hotel companies want to increase the number of helicopter tours above the falls. There is only 6 but they want to add another 8 which will damage the wildlife and eventually end the status of a World Heritage Site for the falls.
