Before around 2000 the Lutheran Church of Sweden was the official church in Sweden. About 83% of the population are members of the church but a vast majority states that it is only for the reasons that you are not allowed to marry in a church if you are not a member and a burial is a lot cheaper and more easily administered if you are a member of the church. A small amount of the collected tax goes to a burial fund in the Church of Sweden if you are a member. There is no education in Christianity in Sweden. All religions are treated equal in school and the school subject "Religion" is about all religious belief. However, by the end of the summer semester in schoools the classes goes to the church but the religious part of the ceremony has been made much less obvious. Singing a few traditional religious songs is the only religious part of the ceremony in most schools. However, there are parts of Sweden with a very high percentage of religious belief. The most religious parts of Sweden is the county of Småland and the most religious city the city of Jönköping in Småland, the coast near Gothenburg to the Norway border has a lot of different churches and high attendance, as well as the area around the city of Örebro.
