A router or a Layer-3 switch can connect 2 or more LANs together and control data flow between them.
LANs can be of wireless or wired type.In wireless LAN access points can be used tointerconnect the LANs and to Connect wired LANs bridges can be used. By naghma
Network cards are used to connect a personal computer to a LAN. A computer with a network card can be a network participant.Hubs are used to connect participants (PCs and other LAN devices).Bridges are used to connect parts of LAN with each other. Possibly because they operate on a different medium (copper wire, glass fibre).Routers are used to connect networks with each other (LANs with other LANs; LANs with the internet, etc.)Switches are a mix between Hub and Bridge.
Yes, it can.
The Local Area Network? It might help to start with the present. At present we're using LANs to communicate between computers at home and at work. LANs connect to each other and make WANs, or, as is the case at home usually, they connect to the Internet through a firewall. This architecture is proven and probably will not change in the foreseeable future. But with IPv6 coming out, we will have the ability to connect more computers directly to each other. So, my guess is that in the future LANs will be faster and use IPv6. I know, it's a safe bet.
LANs use AWG ratings between 22 and 26
A router is a device that forwards data packets along networks. A router is connected to at least two networks, commonly two LANs or WANs or a LAN and its ISP's network. Routers are located at gateways, the places where two or more networks connect, and are the critical device that keeps data flowing between networks and keeps the networks connected to the Internet.
Similarities between LANS and WANS is that they are both networks and can cover small geographical areas.
WAN ( Wide Area Network )
LAN can be connected by routers . A router can be used to connect to LAN's .a LAN to a WAN and LAN to Internet.
Star is always easier to manage but mesh provides better fault protection. I would use start technology for LAN and mesh to connect LANs together.
LAN means Local Area Network. It can connect computers within buildings and a limited area and can also share resources like printers.
