Since the Earth is a sphere (a ball), you can set out either east or west from
Portugal, and if you keep going long enough, reach the Prime Meridian. It's true,
however, that regardless of your starting point in Portugal, your trip will be shorter
if you travel to the east.
The Prime Meridian doesn't pass through Portugal.
The Prime Meridian is the line of longitude at zero degrees. By international convention, the modern Prime Meridian passes through the Greenwich Royal Observatory in southeast London at 51 degrees 28 minutes 38 second North latitude and 0 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds East longitude.
On its way to the South Pole on Antarctica, the Prime Meridian passes through Spain on the Iberian Peninsula.
It passes through Spain and frace ... and several other countries ...
but not through portugal.
The prime meridian is 6.19 degrees east of Portugal's easternmost point.
East.
no it runs through London
Europe Africa Antarctica
The prime meridian runs through Europe, Africa and Antarctica.
Of course it does! The prime meridian divides thr western and eastern hemispheres from the equator, so technically yes, it does.
The only lines that can run parallel to the Prime Meridian on any map are other meridians of longitude, and the only map on which they can be printed parallel to it is a Mercator Projection. They are not really parallel to the Prime Meridian.
The prime meridian runs through three continents. These continents include Europe, Antarctica, and Africa. The prime meridian is also referred to as the Greenwich meridian.

Yes.
no it runs through London
No. The meridian of 180° longitude ... exactly opposite the Prime Meridian and half a world away ... runs through the Aleutian chain.
Yes, it does.
No it does not.
The Prime Meridian runs through both the North and South Poles, dividing Earth into the eastern and western hemispheres. =========================================The Prime Meridian touches both the north and south poles, but to be verytechnical about it, it doesn't 'run through' either of them. The poles are the ends of the Prime Meridian. So when it reaches each pole,it stops there, and doesn't 'run through'.
Africa.
