The security council
The main division of the United Nations responsible for keeping international peace is the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The UNSC is composed of fifteen member states, five of which are permanent members with veto power, and it has the authority to make decisions binding on all member countries. Its primary function is to maintain peace and security, and it does so through various means such as imposing sanctions, authorizing military action, and facilitating peacekeeping operations.

The Leage of nations was an international peace-keeping organization that was created by President Woodrow Wilson during World War I, I believe, that was created to prevent future wars. Although the American president founded the Leage of Nations, the U.S. never joined it.
