For example, you might say, "I'm going to Greece in the fall." If you'd already gone to Greece, you'd say, "I went to Greece last fall." You wouldn't say, "I went to Greece in the fall" unless you were including the year you'd gone: "I went to Greece in the fall of 1992." Other than that, it's fine. Except for the lack of capitalization, of course.
