Species become extinct all the time. So the probability that one species or another will become extinct in the near future is one (meaning a certainty). But if you are asking whether a catastrophic event -- such as a huge asteroid striking the Earth and causing cataclysmic devastation -- will lead to mass extinction of all Earth's species, well, that's another matter altogether. According to NASA, the probability that the Earth will be struck by an undiscovered near-Earth object (NEO) that is bigger than one kilometer in diameter is one in 100,000 per year. The chances are much greater -- one in just 100 -- for objects the size of the one believed to have devastated a region of Siberia in 1908. (See provided link to the Tunguska event.) I am assuming that a 1-km asteroid would wreak sufficient havoc to destroy most, if not all, life on the planet.

For the "probable cause" that a criminal event has, or is about to occur, and by serving the warrant (search or arrest) the crime can be solved or prevented. Probable Cause (partial definition): " . . is more than mere suspicion but less than the amount of evidence required for conviction."
It was during a event and you can no longer get it.
Well, a tornado could be an unexpected event, and thus the change would be a town that is no longer there.
Solar winds are the out-of-this-world event that cause auroras to appear on earth. Auroras can happen near both the north and the south poles.

HPV does not directly cause sterility. In the relatively uncommon event that cervical cancer requires removal of the uterus, fertility may be affected.

No, as of 2014, the Genesect event is no longer available.

A random event is an event that can't be predicted and does not has a specific cause.
Volcanoes are a good example of one event that could cool the atmosphere, though it needs to be a huge explosive eruption, usually in the tropics. Another would be a reduction in sun spots, though this only has a minor effect. Finally, orbital variations can cool the earth, though this is at much longer time scales than humans would observe. Cause and effect refers to the relationship between two events where one event (the cause) leads to another event (the effect). The cause is the reason why something happens, while the effect is the result or consequence of that cause. Understanding cause and effect helps to predict outcomes and make connections between different events.
