Animals have different digestive systems because they need to be able to digest the food that they evolved to consume.

Most predatory and omnivorous animals have simple stomachs that are not designed to digest fiberous materials.

Many herbivores have complex stomach and the ability to regurgitate consumed fiberous grasses and twigs so that it can be more heavily masticated and returned to the stomach for further digestion.

Feed that's easiest to digest for one animal may be very difficult for another animal to process.
