The Baltimore Orioles started play as the Milwaukee Brewers when the American League became a major league in 1901. The Brewers became the St. Louis Browns in 1902 and stayed in St. Louis through the 1953 season. They moved to Baltimore and became the Orioles in 1954 and have been there since.
