Hi! This is the question for this question! Because air was contained with oxygen and oxygen so oxygen with smallest heat it burns down the filament! This is also evacuated and filled with a gas which does not react with the red hot filament. So .... if air present the filament would quickly oxidise and fail to light up!
It won't burn the filament.
Resistive Heating, as current passes through the filament power is dissipated from the filament in the form of heat, they are made of Tungsten which has a melting point of 3380 degree Celsius. And since the interior of the bulb contains very little to no oxygen, usually filled with argon or similar type gas. The filament cannot burn, but will degrade over time to the point where it "burns out" but in reality the filament just breaks
The filament in the light bulb is heated to a very high temperature. At such a temperature oxygen from the air would oxidise the metal(s) in the filament and thereby destroy the bulb. Using an inert gas such as argon in the bulb prevents such oxidation.
For Light bulbs:The filament is made of tungsten. There is a inert gas used around the filament which is usually argon, neon, or nitrogen.
Oxygen

oxygen
gas gas
Assuming the question is referring to incandescent light bulbs (the ones with the glowing filament), Argon is the gas used.Argon is a harmless gas found in air, and is used because it cannot react with the hot filament.
because no air enters it. The air burns gas.
Electric power is put trough a metallic filament inside a bulb that is filled with an inert gas. the filament is surrounded by the inert gas rather then air to stop the metallic filament from oxidizing when it starts to glow as a result of the electricity being run through it. the glowing filament produces the light.
methane is in gas taps comes fro under the north sea and burns with a blue flame if there is plenty of air from gemma
it only burns in the air
Sulfur dioxide, SO2
Oxygen.
Hydrogen is a colorless gas that burns with oxygen. If substances will burn in air, those same substance will burn better in oxygen.
