All generations of iPods work with the iPod docks sold at Walmart. But this only includes all the generations of the iPod touch, not the iPod shuffle, nano, or any other type of iPod on the market. This is because all the generations of iPod touches have the same charger slot so they all can fit in the iPod docks sold at Walmart or any other store where they carry them.

Ipod docks can only be used for one ipod at a time when it is playing, but they can be used by many different ipods belonging to severaly different people.

yes all ipods work with ipod docks All iPods with the female slot at the bottom (not firewire ports) can be attached to docks and so forth. Firewire iPods can only connect via the sound port (head phone jack) and the firewire port. If a dock does not have one of these, it will not work with that iPod.
