A newton (N) is actually a unit of force. Since a force is equal to a mass times an acceleration according to Newton's second law, the weight of this object on Earth is equal to 40 N / 9.8 m/s^2 (acceleration of gravity on Earth). This object weighs around 4.1 kg. On the moon, the force of gravity will be less because the moon is less massive. The acceleration of gravity on the moon is 1.62 m / s^2. The force of gravity acting on this object on the moon would be 1.62 m / s^2 * 4.1 kg. This is around 6.6 N and substantially less.

No, the gravitational force on moon is almost 1/4th of that of earth. Hence the object will weigh around 10 N on the moon. That is why the astronauts are seen jumping on moon as they are not properly pulled to the moon surface.

No. A Newton is a Kilogram times a Meter per Second, and a kilogram is a unit of mass. Regardless of where in the universe the object is, your mass does not change, unless of course you add more mass.

The only thing that changes significantly is the force of gravitational attraction on the objects mass or weight.

The object that weighs 30N on the moon has greater mass than the object that weighs 30N on the earth. The acceleration due to gravity on the moon is 1.622m/s2, 1/6 that of the earth, which is 9.8m/s2. So a 30N object on the earth would have a mass of about 3kg, while a 30N object on the moon would have a mass of about 18kg.

Who much does mars weight?

On Mars, you weigh 37.7% as much as you would on Earth. If you weigh 100 pounds on Earth, you weigh only 37.7 pounds on Mars. If you weigh 150 pounds on Earth, you weigh only 56.6 pounds. The equation is .37 x Earth weight = Martian weight.

You weigh 89 lbs on earth how much do you weigh on Venus?

To convert your weight on Earth into your weight on Mars, you have to multiply your weight by 0.38. So let's do the calculation for 94 pounds. 94 X 0.38 equals approx. 36. So you will weigh 36 lbs on Mars if you're 94 lbs on Earth.
