Great question. 2 weeks ago, I would have told you that Shure was the way to go. I've been using Shure E2's since they first came out, and they give you great high and mid reproduction. I recently lost my Shure's at the airport and a lady on the next flight let me borrow her Bose buds. They sounded OK, but they were ungodly uncomfortable, and I wouldn't recommend them even on a short flight.
I ended up replacing my Shure's with the new Beats Buds by Dr. Dre (actually by Monster, minus the marketing ploy). They give MUCH better bass reproduction than my Shure's ever did and are every bit as comfortable.
For great highs, go with Shure. For great lows, go with Beats. If you're not sure which one to pick, the Beats give you much better looks (if you're into that sort of thing), and a tangle free, flat cord. Happy listening!
Yeah I agree with the answer above. Monster earphones have great performance and its quality is good.
