In order to calculate your body mass index you need your weight and height. Take your height in inches and square the number. In other words, multiply the number of inches by the same number of inches. Then take your answer and divide your weight, in pounds, by that number. Multiply the answer by 703 and that is your body mass index. If your answer falls between 19 and 25 you are at a healthy weight. Over that means you are overweight and under 19 means you are underweight.
