Sprue-- A disorder of impaired absorption of nutrients from the diet by the small intestine (malabsorption), resulting in malnutrition. tropical sprue.occurs mainly in tropical regions
Pathphysiology is the study of the changes of normal mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions, either caused by a disease, or resulting from an abnormal syndrome...
You observe the ice melt. You can measure the resulting reduction in the water temperature.
when any gas is expanded, it's pressure would drop and the temperature would drop as well resulting with cold atmosphere.
An example of light absorption is a crystal. Crystals absorb light and then reflect the light back out resulting in the appearance of a rainbow.

The first variable that is used to classify stars is its ionization state which can measure the photosphere's temperature and density. This information is gathered by splitting the light from a star with a prism and observing the resulting spectrum that includes absorption lines. Luminosity is another variable used; it is based on the width of absorption lines.
No, you should not try the metabolic diet, because it could put a strain on your immune system, resulting in catastrophic consequences to your body. Don't risk it!

Adaptive Thermogenesis: This can be defined as the regulated production of heat in response to environmental changes in temperature and diet, resulting in metabolic inefficiency. For example, shivering when we are cold uses energy and this is an example of adaptive thermogenesis. (Alexander Bowring 24 / 04 / 2008)

Water absorption into the roots is done as a result of two processes called active absorption and passive absorption. Active absorption is done with the help of the metabolic energy released due to the root respiration. Due to the mineral nutrients absorption by the roots during the respiration, the ionic compounds in the xylem become concentrated thereby resulting in low potential of water (just like increased salt in our body results in thirst). Since the soil is a higher potential of water, the water from the soil is absorbed into the roots thereby resulting in an equilibrium. In passive absorption, roots don't require water, but it is the leaves that actually need water and hence, roots absorb water and just pass it to the stem and leaves. Leaves suffer loss of water due to various reasons like transpiring, opening of stomata and atmospheric conditions. In this process of passive absorption, lower potential is caused in the leaves and not in roots. In such case, water is just lifted up like that of a bucket of water from the well. Hence, this process can be termed as 'absorption of water through the roots' but not 'absorption of water by the roots'.

Swelling of the meninges may interfere with the normal absorption of CSF by blood vessels, causing accumulation of CSF and damage from the resulting pressure on the brain.
