For show jumping anybreed can be used but for high cup level the horses have been professinaly breed eg. holsteiner or warmbloods but lots of horses that jump are TB's they are an overall a good non expenisve (eg. under 5k if off the track) horse
More than any breed, hunters are more a type. In today's hunter showrings the judges like to see a tall, pretty mover. And most judges at open hunters shows usually like solid colored coat patterns. Paints, Pintos and Appaloosas may not do as well. The horse's form over fences will also weigh heavily in your final score. Hunters must be calm with an even speed and style of the jumps. As he jumps he should have a rounded topline and it is important that he tucks his knees tight and evenly as he goes over the top rail. Sloppy jumpers won't do well in hunters. There are a lot of Thoroughbreds and Thoroughbred crosses in the hunter rings. Some Thoroughbreds can be a little "hot" or highstrung for the hunter classes. There are also many Warmbloods. These may be a calmer ride that a full Thoroughbred. In hunter classes remember that your horse is only half of the picture. The rider's skill and form will either help or hurt the overall picture.
probably some type of warmblood as they have been bred specifically for jumping and have strong hocks. a lot of top horses are warmblooods
Horses used for jumping include Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horse, Arabian, Trakkener, and Appaloosa are used for jumping. All steeplechase horses are Thoroughbreds.
Warmbloods or thoroughbreds
My first horse was an arabian named All about me and she was the best. get an arabian. There is no one 'best' breed for a first horse. In reality you shouldn't even be concerned about the breed in the beginning. You should be more concerned with if the horse is overall suitable for you and your goals, things like breed should be considered last.
It REALLY depends on what you plan to use the horse for.
a miniature horse is a great carting breed and there ya go folks
Irish sports horse always! Or a regestered hunter from a breeder.
an appendix, quarter horse or a appaloosa and a palomino
Best of show. This shows people that an animal, no matter what the breed, has the best conformation of all breeds displayed at that show.
the breed doesn't really matter...the height of the horse matters.
Endurance riding
Any breed or cross breed of horse will work fine so long as it is sound and well trained. Don't buy a specific breed of horse just because some says it's the best.
Yes and no. Whether a particular breed of horse is best is all a matter of opinion.
In my opinion, the draft horses are better! Like the Australian Stock Horse and the Draft Horse!
The best time to breed ANY horse breed is in the summer. When daylight is in its prime, so is the mare's heat. This is how it was planned in the wild. When bred in the early summer, foals were born in late spring, when grass was at its best, the temperatures were warm, and the foal had a long time until the cold winter.
