Thoroughbreds are generally considered to be the fastest breed of horse.
No one breed of horse is any better than the other, what a younger child needs is dependent upon their skill level, height, weight, and if they have a desire to compete in a specific discipline. Breed and color should be the last things considered for an 11 year old.
The Arabian is indeed an old breed, it is considered the founder of all modern horse breeds. Its breeding lines were greatly revered on the European continent, and they were shipped all over to improve native breeds. As the Europeans brought horses over to the New World, most of them were of Arabian descent, spreading the blood through the Americas. So, yes, the Arabian is considered a very old, if not ancient, founding breed. The Arabian is indeed an old breed, it is considered the founder of all modern horse breeds. There is actually an average for how old a horse is for each breed (because the life span for each breed is different) but I breed Arabians and we had an old mare, she lived to be 34. Sounds ancient, I know!
You horse has to be 2 years and 6 months.
About 3 years old

About 2 and a half years old. (on average)
it depends on its breed and how old it is
At 2-3 years of age a horse will reach sexual maturity, thus able to breed.
Mustangs are a breed of horse, considered eqqus.
That depends on the breed of the horse for e.g. A Lipizzaner can live up to and over 30 years old and still perform. Every breed has a different life span.
