By Population: Six French villages destroyed in the WWI have no inhabitants

(Beaumont-en-Verdunois, Bezonvaux, Cumières-le-Mort-Homme, Fleury-devant-Douaumont, Haumont-près-Samogneux and Louvemont-Côte-du-Poivre).

The village of Rochefourchat has one, and the villages of Leménil-Mitry and Rouvroy-Ripont have two inhabitants each.

By Area: The village of Castelmoron d'Albret has an area of about 40,000 sq metres (430,556 sq foot).
