Both are poor choices for a modern computer network, as they receive no security updates from Microsoft. Windows 95/98/Me and Windows 2000 all have networking support. Unless a specific network type is needed, such as a Windows domain, networking is pretty much an afterthought, and the type of applications that are going to be run will dictate the operating system of choice more than what protocols are supported.
Windows 2000
Windows 2000
Windows 2000

Don't use Windows use Linux Ubuntu
Yes, Windows phone is a great choice for a novice smart phone user because both have similar features. Windows phone and novice smart phone are very similar in many ways so buying windows would be a really good choice.
Windows 7 will be the best choice for a laptop computer. Vista is the older Microsoft operating system, and has more bugs and unsupported features built in.
Windows 98 can be installed on a FAT16 or FAT32 partition (FAT32 is the best choice for disks larger than 512 MB, and supports long file names better).
The system came with Windows 98 or 2000, so putting 95 or OS/2 would be a total downgrade. Windows 2000, unlike Windows 98, still receives security updates from Microsoft, so it is a far better choice if you want to use the internet. With enough RAM installed, the laptop could also run Windows XP quite well.
You cannot compare the two as Windows 7 is an operating system and a MacBook Pro is a computer. MacBook Pro computers use Mac OS X by default but can be downgraded to run Windows 7 if so required thus negating the need to make a choice.
Yes, you can. When installing W7 over an XP OS you will have the choice to keep them both.
Historically, it started with Windows n.n, such as Windows 2.0, 3.0. 3.1 and 3.11. It then changed to Windows 95 and Windows NT. NT went through serveral versions. Windows 98 supplanted WIN95, and Windows 2000 (WIN2K) was offered as the OS-of-choice to merge the WIN98 and NT streams. Windows ME and XP followed, then Vista and now Windows 7.
