Science is moderated by the laws of the land in which it is performed.
It is also constrained by the ethics and morals of the person involved, and more directly, by the funding agency that financially supports the scientist.
As such there is no direct 'control' in a free society, but one might argue as to how free the society is in which one lives.
If one were to be sceptical, I would also say that one's peers 'control' one's work as a scientist. After all, there are fashions and fads in science as much as in any realm of human activity.
Nobody "controls" a volcano. So, no.
Legal controls are regulations and laws established by governments to govern behavior, ensure compliance with legal standards, and protect the rights of individuals and the public. These controls can take the form of statutes, regulations, and case law, and they often address areas such as environmental protection, labor rights, consumer safety, and corporate governance. By enforcing legal controls, authorities aim to maintain order, promote fairness, and prevent harm within society.
Atomic number is the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom. Each element has a unique atomic number.
The method in a society that regulates and controls behavior is known as social control. It involves the use of norms, rules, and sanctions to maintain order and conformity within a group or community. Social control mechanisms can be informal (such as peer pressure) or formal (such as laws and regulations).
