Biomass energy is renewable as Fossil Fuels are not
Fossil Fuels are convenient and easy to use, they also generate a lot of Energy.By: MI
Solar. Wind.
One advantage is that we get energy to support our lifestyle without having to dump carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is bad for the environment, you only have to look at the planet Venus with a 95% carbon dioxide atmosphere and global warming with surface temperatures of 400-500 degrees C.
The enerrgy is cleaner and it is a renewable resource
The source of the energy is the nuclear reactor, rather than a furnace for burning fossil fuels.
This appears to be rather a confused question. Fossil fuels have chemical energy, not mechanical energy. The chemical energy is usually converted to thermal energy by burning the fuel. The thermal energy is used to generate steam which is used to drive turbines and so convert it to mechanical energy. Finally, the turbines generate electrical energy..I suppose it is possible to throw lumps of coal or shoot jets of oil at a rotor and so make it spin like a turbine. That is probably the only way in which mechanical energy can be obtained directly from fossil fuels.
Bacteria that obtain their energy by removing electrons from inorganic molecules, rather than obtaining energy from the sun, are called chemoautotrophic. In general, organisms, that obtain their energy from sunlight are called photoautotrophs.
Yes. When burning coal, this is a fossil fuel. Also, fossil fuels provide every day energy like heating homes and cooking food. Britain is now trying to rely on its own sources rather than other countries. Hope this helps :-)
Wind is renewable and coal is non-renewable . =P
No air or water pollution as from burning fossil fuel. No chance of running out of wind. No territorial disputes over ownership of wind. No interruptions due to striking miners or civil war.
Aluminium oxide is an example of corrosion of advantage rather than disvantage
