Which is best an attack or utility helicopter?
An attack helicopter is best for attacking targets and a utility helicopter is best for carrying troops and supplies.
With military aircraft - the alpha character is simple. For the US obviously. F = Fighter H = Helicopter A = Attack B = Bomber C = Cargo U = Utility. With many variations. F-16 - Fighter. AH-64 - Apache - Attack Helicopter. C-130 - Hercules AC-130 - Spectre or spooky. Gun ship. B-47 - Bomber. UH-1 - Huey - Utility Helicopter A-10 - Warthog - Attack. Oblivious these are not all Boeing developments but…
Yes, the Vietnam War was nickname the first "helicopter war." The US Army's first AIRBMOBILE Divisions were created in the Vietnam War: 1st Air Cav Div, 101st Airmoble Div. Just as WWII created the US Army's first "Airborne Divisions." The most famous birds of the war were the "Huey" & "Cobra" (UH-1 Iroquois and AH-1 Attack Helicopter). UH=Utility Helicopter/AH=Attack Helicopter
It is the American Apache AH-64 is the most advance attack helicopter today. ANS 2 -Best is a poor term for a comparison. For instance, the above-mentioned Apache is terrible for hauling cargo. There is NO BEST in such a wide group. -Some are best at Attack, some are best at rescue, some are best at Sub-hunting, some are best at heavy-lifting and so on.
That is correct, but capitalized as "Huey" or "Huey helicopter". *The name Huey is applied to the Bell military helicopter UH-1 Iroquois and its variants, including the AH-1 Cobra, UH-1Y Venom, and AH-1Z Viper. The AH designation indicates attack helicopters, and the U designation means utility. The name can also be applied to the civilian variants, the Bell 200-series (204 up).
It used to be the CH-34 Choctaw (known as the sea horse in the Navy/Marines). By '65 it had been replaced by the UH-1 Iroquois (aka Huey). UH stands for Utility Helicopter; CH stands for Cargo Helicopter. The world's FIRST (designed and built) attack helicopter was the AH-1 Cobra, deployed and combat tested in South Vietnam in '66. Both the Cobra and the Iroquois were built by the same company and both birds used the…
to get a helicopter on black ops u have to be good at it, then u go to your killstreaks and pick attack helicopter chopper gunner . Then u need 7 kills which gets u an attack helicopter and then i think its 9 kills for the chopper gunner which lets u pilot the helicopter(hardline makes it one less kill)
The most famous is the UH-1 Iroquois (better known as the Huey), and the AH-1 Cobra. Other helicopters used in the war were: OH-6 Cayuse (Scout), OH-58 Kiowa (Scout/Command), CH-53 Sea Stallion, HH53 Jolly Green Giant (aircraft recovery), CH-47 Chinook (transport), Sioux (scout/command), CH-34 (transport), CH-21 (transport). OH=Observation Helicopter/AH=Attack Helicopter/CH=Cargo Helicopter/UH=Utility Helicopter/HH=Heavy Lift Helicopter
Due to your context "what was - -" I assume you mean an object. - The Iroquois helicopter was possibly the best 'utility' helicopter ever built. Known to airmen and soldiers worldwide as the "Huey" , it first flew in 1956 and over 16,000 were built over the years. Over 8,000 of these aircraft served in action in Vietnam and in the Middle East and the characteristic "whop, whop, whop" sound of it's twin blades…

On February 23, 2004, the U.S. Army announced their decision to cancel the Comanche helicopter program in view of the need to provide funds to renovate the existing helicopter fleet of aging attack, utility, and reconnaissance aircraft. Also a factor was the growing popularity in the military of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for reconnaissance purposes
All US helicopters are advanced modernized versions (or descendents) of the Vietnam War era choppers: 1. CH-53 Sea Stallion (CH=Cargo helicopter) 2. AH-1 Cobra (AH=Attack Helicopter) 3. UH-1 Iroquois (the Huey/UH=Utility Helicopter) 4. HH Jolly Green Giants (HH=Heavy left Helicopter) 5. OH-58 Kiowa (Observation Helicopter/jet ranger) 6. OH-6 Cayuse (Observation Helicopter/this bird actually was designed to replace the US Army's O-1 Bird Dog artillery observation airplane; used for the last time in Vietnam).
The US Army officially designates helicopters as rotor-wing aircraft or rotory-wing aircraft. Men on the ground simply called them "birds' or "choppers." The most famous choppers of the Viet war were the Huey & Cobra. The Huey is the UH-1 Iroquois (UH=Utility Helicopter); the Cobra was an AH-1 (AH=Attack Helicopter). There were nearly a dozen more: Kiowas, Cayuse, Sioux, Shawnee, Sea Stallions, Jolly Green Giants, Chinook, Sea Knights, Flying Crane, etc.
i think the eurotiger is good the Aussie army has them and chose them because of a testflight and one crashed and all survived so then they were ordered The Marines use the AH-1Z Viper which is a variant of the AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter. It packs a 3-barreled 20mm Gatling Gun in the chin turret, hardpoints for 16 Hellfire laser-guided missiles and two Sidewinder air-to-air missiles on the wingtips.
Six - The Boeing CH-47 Chinook is a versatile, twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter. Its top speed of 170 knots (196 mph, 315 km/h) was faster than utility and attack helicopters of the 1960s and even many of today. Its primary roles include troop movement, artillery emplacement and battlefield resupply. It has a wide loading ramp at the rear of the fuselage and three external-cargo hooks.
The Apache helicopter is used in many nations for an attack helicopter. This type of helicopter allows for a two man cockpit and weapons to be placed all around. The AH-64 Apache helicopter is outfitted with night vision systems, a 30-millimeter chain gun, AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, and Hydra 70 rocket pods. This helicopter was approved for full American military production in 1982. The Apache helicopter is still being made today, under new models.
