It depends on how light you want to lift the current color in your hair.
For light colored hair such as light brown to a normal dark brown you can use a 20.
But if your hair is a very dark brown that looks almost close to black you would use a 30 or maybe even a 40 if it's really dark.
A 20 developer will lift your hair color twice as much and a 30 developer,3 times as much.
Lifting means making it lighter.
You can watch the color as it processes and once it reaches the desired lightness you rinse to make it stop processing.
Most hair dressers start with a 20 volume developer but it still depends on the current color of your hair.
Equal parts of 10V. Developer + 20V. Developer= 15 Volume Developer
What is the difference between 10 and 20 volume creme developer?
Equal parts of 30V + 40V= 35V.
Mixing equal parts of 20 V. and 40 V. developers will give you an approximate 30 volume developer.
Quick question how long do you let it sit there before doing the dye?
20 volume
Mixing equal parts of 20 V. and 40 V. developers will give you an approximate 30 volume developer.
creme developer is thicker and more conditioning Also.......Clear developer is mainly used when coloring out of a bottle and cream is used when coloring with a bowl & brush.
Good idea, but unfortunately that won't work. There's no way to make a 40 volume, you will need to buy that separately.
If you mix them in equal parts, you now have 25 volume developer.
20 volume.
10 volume developer is used to deposit hair color. if you have a lighter color and want to go darker you should used the volume 10.
