It all depends on where you put your psp. The pouch is nice to protect it from keys and phones and other items in your jacket pocket, but the case, being more solid will protect it better in a backpack or the like, in either case, don't drop it! It doesn't guarantee to protect it, and I've dropped mine once with a case, and broken the LCD anyway. Which I then had to replace.
