Best Answer

A piano is still the best to use and practice with for any pianist even with a piano beginner.

Reasons:

Piano are what they'll use if they're going to do recitals and such.

Keyboards are not touch sensitive, therefore piano beginners will not be able to exercise their fingers, wrists, elbow and boy when it comes to piano playing.

With the piano, they'll be able to control the piano pedals. They'll learn how to use correctly and body posture in piano playing can be practiced.

Pianos are the best. Any piano teachers and pianists will assure you of that. Now the question is will you choose a grand piano or an upright piano.

What is the purpose of having a weighted keyboard?

The purpose of a weighted keyboard is to better simulate playing an actual piano. Skilled piano players can achieve variations in the sounds produced by striking the weighted keys of a piano with different intensity. Additionally, since playing a piano or keyboard involves the use of muscles in the hands and arms, a weighted keyboard helps condition these muscles to better provide the strength and endurance to play an actual piano.

Are the keys on the xylophone the same on a piano?

The keyboard and piano are NOT the same, for a couple reasons: - The piano has a wider range. - It is more real and acoustic. - Better to practice on than a keyboard. If you are sending your child to piano lessons, it is best to buy a piano. A piano will teach them how to sit correctly, and how to actually press the notes far better than a keyboard will. And most keyboard keys are smaller than the piano's keys are, so that is not a good thing, if they want to practice right. Also, when your child reaches a higher level in piano, pieces will require more strength and power. If you happen to bang too much on the keyboard, the keys will break and the electronic sound will be damaged in time as well. However, a piano can take that kind of vigorous aggression. Hope this helped!
