Many jobs may be better than interior designer, such as a lawyer, doctor, or judge, but this is a matter of personal preference.
i dream of being an interior designer... you have asked the right person. 1. a designer asks the client what style they want. 2. they then ask the problems with the space 3. they the designer figures out how to make the room better 4. the room will look like it is from HGTV!
To better educate yourself about becoming an interior designer I suggest that you visit the Wikipedia page dedicated to Interior Design Education found here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interior_Design_EducationNot only does it explain what is expected in this job field, it also suggests what level of education is expected given any global location.
The 'standard' hours for an interior designer are approximately 40 hours a week but don't be fooled. When you are working on a project you can end up working up to 14 hours a day! Don't go into Interior Design unless you are totally committed. You won't get rich quick and it is hard work. Hope that helps.
That depends on if you know what you are doing. If you know what you are doing and don't mind some dirty work, it's better to do it yourself. If you don't know what you're doing, then it's better to hire someone if you can afford it.
Fun, designer wallpaper can be purchased in many locations, depending on the amount of money one is willing to spend on this purchase. While interior designers might have access to a better selection than a typical DIY-er, home decorator websites are popping up that allow just about any DIY-er to make their home look as if an interior decorator spent hours wallpapering the interior!
Imagine Fashion Designer is rated better.

If you are looking for something 100% original, your best bet is to work with a local carpenter, or interior designer. Just check your local yellow pages. If you are looking for a wood headboard you're better off going with the carpenter, but if you want something upholstered then an interior designer can usually create something fabulous for you. One other option is using a company that makes custom draperies. I'm sorry I can't refer you to anyone specifically because I don't know where you are.
